Fortnite SEASON 2 – EVERYTHING NEW EXPLAINED

Fortnite SEASON 2

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, “Myths and Mortals,” has arrived, and it’s nothing short of legendary. This season plunges players into the heart of Greek mythology, introducing massive new biomes, powerful boss fights against iconic gods, and game-changing items called Mythic weapons. Get ready to ascend Mount Olympus, battle in the Underworld, and harness the power of the gods themselves!

Fortnite SEASON 2: Mount Olympus

A new age of heroes and legends dawns with the arrival of Mount Olympus, a breathtaking new POI dominating the Fortnite map. This majestic city in the clouds, ruled by Zeus himself, is brimming with treasure chests and secrets. At its center, a colossal statue of Zeus stands tall, and those brave enough to challenge him will trigger a mythic boss fight!

Defeating Zeus is no easy feat. He’ll unleash waves of guards upon you before the final confrontation. But the rewards are worth the risk: you’ll score two powerful mythic weapons, the Thunderbolt and the Huntress DMR, along with the Aspect of Speed Medallion. The Thunderbolt lets you devastate foes with charged lightning strikes, while the Huntress DMR is a lethal long-range weapon. The Medallion grants enhanced speed and super jumps, making you a force to be reckoned with.

Fortnite SEASON 2: The Underworld

Descend into the depths of the Underworld, a sprawling, eerie biome ruled by the fearsome Hades. This massive POI, styled as a gothic castle, is a sight to behold. Look out for the eerie green pool of water—step into it, and you’ll gain a temporary dash ability. Additionally, you’ll spot floating skulls throughout the Underworld, remnants of lost souls. Collecting them grants you multiple dash charges for rapid movement across the battlefield.

Naturally, Hades himself guards this domain. Initiate a fight by disturbing his statue, and prepare for a multi-phase battle! Be warned: his minions will swarm you as he powers up his attacks. Persevere and emerge victorious to claim Hades’ mythic Harbinger SMG, a weapon tailor-made for close-quarters chaos. You’ll also snag the Aspect of Siphon Medallion, which restores your health with each elimination, turning you into an unstoppable force.

Fortnite SEASON 2: Brawlers Battleground

Enter the Brawlers Battleground, an arena teeming with statues of ancient warriors situated in the bottom right corner of the map. This battle-scarred POI is steeped in history, with even a colossal, decapitated minotaur head gracing the landscape. Here, it’s clear that combat is king, and the god of war himself, Aries, awaits your challenge.

Seek out the central statue and strike it to unleash Aries’ wrath. He, too, fights in multiple phases, so be ready for a fierce battle. Defeating him grants you the mythic War Forged Assault Rifle, a powerful weapon with unmatched firepower. While Aries might be known for his spear, this mythic AR proves he’s no slouch in a ranged firefight either. Additionally, regular versions of the War Forged Assault Rifle can be found scattered across the map. You’ll also secure the Aspect of Combat Medallion, enhancing your long-range damage output.

Fortnite SEASON 2: New Gameplay Mechanics

Fortnite SEASON 2 wings

Season 2 introduces a revolutionary way to traverse the map: the Wings of Icarus. This mythic item lets you soar through the skies with unprecedented freedom. Not only can you quickly reposition, but you can also execute devastating dive-bomb attacks on unsuspecting enemies. The Wings of Icarus are scattered generously around the map, and with everyone taking to the skies, it’s like cars have become an afterthought! Just be cautious, as shooting your wings will send you plummeting to the ground.

Golden chests add another layer of excitement. These reskinned Epic chests guarantee a Wings of Icarus Mythic when opened, along with a whole host of other valuable loot. Keep your eyes peeled for these golden beacons of power!

The Medallion system has also received a major overhaul. While previously all medallions granted health regeneration, they now offer unique abilities. The Aspect of Speed (Zeus) boosts your movement, the Aspect of Combat (Aries) increases long-range damage, and the Aspect of Siphon (Hades) restores health with each elimination. Discovering hidden medallions adds strategic depth to your playstyle.

Other Notable Changes

The transformation of Fortnite’s map doesn’t end with Olympus and the Underworld. Film buffs will rejoice at the return of a classic POI – Ruin Reels has been revamped as Restored Reels, now a fully operational movie theater! Grab some popcorn and settle in for a cinematic experience.

Battle Pass: Rise of the Gods

This season’s Battle Pass is an absolute must-have for any mythology enthusiast. Headlining the lineup is Cerberus, the three-headed guardian of the Underworld, complete with alternate styles and a fearsome weapon skin. Other Battle Pass highlights include Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, Poseidon, the mighty sea god, and a comical take on Medusa. And, of course, the tier 100 skin is none other than Hades, god of the Underworld, boasting a terrifying transformation style.

In a surprising twist, over 200 new Lego skins join the fray! While the Poseidon Lego style might be garnering some laughs, it’s all part of the fun as Fortnite continues to expand its roster of collaborations.

Fortnite’s Myth Immortal season officially ends on May 24th. With so much to explore, now’s the best time to dive in!
